Centralia city manager Galen Mahle announced at Monday night’s city council meeting that job openings have been listed for Centralia’s Director of Economic Development and Recreation Coordinator. Those interested in applying for either position can find more information on the job openings page on the city website.
The council approved an addendum extending the water sales agreement between Centralia and Junction City in order to allow Junction city to meet requirements to secure a loan from the United States Department of Agriculture for a water line replacement project. The addendum allows the current contract to continue for 41 years, with a current rate of $4.10 per thousand gallons set to increase annually with the Consumer Price Index.
In new business, the council accepted a bid of $42,250 from G and H Marine to replace a dock at Raccoon Lake. The existing dock will be rehabilitated by Centralia city staff and relocated to the south side of Centralia Lake near Levee Road.
Public Works Street Maintenance Operator Charles Gierten was recognized with a service award for ten years of service.
