Louise “LouLou” Huffhine, a beloved resident of Salem, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025, just a week shy of her 61st birthday. Born on March 9, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Jimmy Dale Rhodes and Sarah Turley, Louise spent her life nurturing and caring for others, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.

LouLou devoted over 25 years of her career to the Twin Willows Nursing Home in Salem, where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her dedication to her profession reflected her warm heart and her innate desire to care for people. Louise found joy in her work and cherished the relationships she built along the way.

Family was the cornerstone of Louise’s life. She is survived by her loving son, David Neil George Huffhine Sr. of Salem; her cherished daughters, Pamela Krein and husband Jason of Sandoval, and DeeAnn Smith and husband Blake of Salem. Louise is also survived by her dear sister, Doris Shoreck of Alma, and her treasured grandchildren, Micah Slater, Noah Slater, Gavin Smith, Keaton David Johnson, Kemper Jacob Johnson, Kyle Hodge, Braden Hodge and several nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren brought immense joy to her life, and she delighted in making arts and crafts for them and all her family, ensuring they were always enveloped in her love and thoughts.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Dale Rhodes and Sarah (Turley) Warnecke and maternal grandmother, Elizabeth (Muessing) Turley and her brother, Jimmy Rhodes, who welcomed her with open arms.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home.
