The Marion County Health Department is reporting six new COVID-19 cases from Friday through Monday bringing the total number of cases in the county since the pandemic began to 4,268. There were no additional deaths that currently stand at 114.
Of the new cases, one is considered community spread and five from household or close contacts. None were long term care residents. One is a student, with contact tracing underway.
There are now 13 active cases, with four hospitalized. There were 15 released from isolation over the reporting period.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,220 new cases statewide along with 22 additional deaths. None of the deaths were in South Central or Southern Illinois.
The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days has bumped up to 2.6-percent.
Another 41,343 doses of vaccine were give on Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 4,747,845 shots.
