The Marion County Health Department is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and Friday.   Four of the cases are considered community spread while nine were considered to be from household or close contacts.  None of the cases involved long-term care residents or students.

There are now 22 active cases, including four who are in the hospital.   None are on ventilators.   The health department has released 18 from isolation during the current reporting period.

There were five new cases reported in Clinton County on Friday with 34 currently on home isolation.   The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting six new cases and 19 currently on isolation.  Washington County has had five new cases on Thursday and Friday with five active cases.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,380 new cases statewide along with 12 additional deaths.  None were in South Central or Southern Illinois.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate is up to 2.5-percent.  Another 135,525 vaccines were administered on Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 4,510,696 vaccines.
