Two people were taken to the Washington County Jail in Nashville on felony drug charges following a traffic stop in Nashville late Thursday night.

Nashville Police arrested the driver, 36-year-old Jesse Sexton of Wayne City, for alleged unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  A passenger, 40-year-old Brandy Barns of Mt. Vernon, is charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe.

A vehicle search reportedly turned up both methamphetamine, several capsules of suspected fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

Once at the Washington County Jail, Barns allegedly admitted having more illegal items hidden on her.   Additional suspected methamphetamine and capsules of fentanyl were allegedly recovered along with hypodermic syringes.
