Susan White, a beloved resident of Centralia, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on February 12, 1947, Susan lived a life full of warmth, dedication, and compassion, touching the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was born February 12, 1947 in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Cletus “Jack” Feig, Sr. and Cleo (Guisgond) Feig. She married James “Jim” White on November 1, 1997 in Centralia and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2020.
Susan served as an Executive Office Manager at Feig Sign Company, where her dedication and meticulous nature were admired by all. A devout member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Susan was known for her faith and her generosity, exemplified by her volunteer work alongside her late husband Jim at the CCBA Food Pantry. She was an avid bowler in her younger years, delighting many with her skill and passion for the sport. Susan found great joy in gathering with friends at church.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Cletus “Jack” Feig, Sr. and Cleo (Guisgond) Feig, as well as her first husband, Richard D. Forehand and also her second husband James “Jim” White. Her memory will continue to be celebrated and cherished by her sister, Carol Flanigan of Centralia, and her brothers, Clete Feig and his wife Laura of Centralia, Tom Feig and his wife Jan of Cape Coral, FL, and Bob Feig and his wife April of Centralia. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel in Centralia, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm to honor Susan’s life. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
