Darrell R Goble, 80, of Salem, passed away January 19th, 2025, at Carlyle Healthcare. He was born February 14th, 1944, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to George Goble and Anna Irene (Goble) Yates. He would marry Glenda Harmon, and they would later divorce. He would then marry Doris Jean (Vordtriede) Ashlock on January 27th, 1996, and she preceded him in death after 26 years of marriage.

He is survived by a sister: Rita (Goble) Mount Rogers Wade; stepdaughter: Kristin Elizabeth Vordtriede (Michael) Farrell; stepson: Tony (Cate) Vordtriede; stepdaughter-in-law: Sarah (Rod) Vordtriede-Patton; 6 step-grandchildren: Keegan Farrell, Caiden Farrell, Ethan Vordtriede, Colin Vordtriede, Sean Vordtriede, and Finn Vordtriede; 4 step-sisters: Sharon (Bill) Cash, Rita (Danny) Neaville, Brenda (Keith) Mount, Tracie Fisk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents: George Goble and Anna Irene (Tjaden Goble) Yates; his loving wife: Doris (Vordtriede) Goble; Stepson: Paul Byron Vordtriede; Step Father: Laurel Charles Yates; and siblings: Jerry Goble, Jerry Wade, Phillis (Yates) Gray, Duane Gray, Pat (Yates) Jamison, Ronald Jamison, Aaron (Butch) Yates, Sandy (Yates) Lux Hancock, Gene Lux, John Hancock.

He was a graduate of Triad High School in Troy, Illinois, class of 1962. He served honorably in the Army and was discharged the rank of SP5. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, and Shriners. He drove a semi for Fosters Salvage, Beelman Trucking, and Henderson Trucking. He worked for CJ Heck and out of the Labor Union Hall. Darrell also farmed and ran a hog farm operation.

Per family wishes, cremation rites will be afforded. A private family burial will take place at a future date.
