An electrical fire in a Centralia home Tuesday night resulted in several thousand dollars in damage to part of the attic.
Centralia City Firefighters say the fire was at the Keith and Misty Finney home at 1342 South Sycamore. Their son first smelled a strange odor. There were then some power flickers. The fire in the attic was found after an attempt to reset the breaker box.
Firemen say the fire appears to have started where three electric wires cross and got hot setting insulation on fire. The fire was confined to the small area of the attic, but there was damage to the electrical system and some of the blown in insulation.
Firemen received the call at 9:17 Tuesday night and were on the scene about an hour.
