George F. Cooley, 83, of Boulder passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on October 20, 1941, the son of George Sr. and Elizabeth (Gerardi) Cooley in Belleville.

George is survived by his son, Bryce Cooley of Boulder.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Elizabeth Cooley; his son, Adam “Heath” Cooley; and his daughter, Chrystal Cooley.

George was a hard worker all of his life, a member of the Operator and Engineer’s Local 520. He was a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge for 57 years. He started farming at a young age, working the ground and producing bountiful harvests, grateful to farm alongside his son, Bryce. George knew everything there was to know about pecan trees. He used his wealth of knowledge to graft, nurture, and grow his own pecan grove that consisted of 1500 pecan trees. George was honest, reliable, resourceful, intelligent, and a wonderful provider for his family in every way.

Masonic Rites Service by Scott Lodge No. 79 will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval. A visitation time will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in Sandoval. Private burial will be at a later date at Pritchett Cemetery in Boulder. Memorials may be made in George’s honor to Pritchett Cemetery and will be accepted for his family at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval.
