It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Miriam B. Ilbery, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 67.
Miriam was born on Monday, May 20, 1957, in Makati, Philippines, to her late parents, Gregorio and Concordia (Baldomar) Buesa. She was the youngest of seven siblings, and growing up in a large family instilled in her a profound sense of community and love for togetherness.
Miriam is survived by her devoted husband, Ricky Ilbery, who shared a life filled with love, laughter, and memories. Together, they built a beautiful family, blessed with five children: Arlene Moyer and her husband Dave; Dannell Buesa; Greg Ilbery and his wife Crystal; Jonathan Ilbery; and Shaniah Zhou and her husband Chen. Miriam was an adored grandmother and doted on her three grandchildren: Mila, Jensen, and Blythe Ilbery, who brought immense joy to her life.
Also left to cherish her memory are her two loving sisters, Sandy Marshall, and Natividad Pitas, as well as several cherished nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Dheena Grover, and her husband Daniel. Miriam is reunited in heaven with her parents and her five siblings: Magdalina, Benjamin, Leonardo, Carmen, and Daniel.
Miriam had an infectious zest for life and a remarkable ability to bring people together. She was a beacon of joy who loved singing, dancing, cooking, and entertaining her loved ones. Her home was always open, filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of delicious meals. Miriam had a passion for playing BINGO, a game she enjoyed with friends and family, and found great happiness in the company of her grandchildren. Miriam took pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming home, where her loved ones could always find solace and happiness. Her life was a testament to the love and care she selflessly gave to others, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
