Two people could face drug charges after Centralia Police executed a search warrant on what they are calling a known drug residence at 611 East 7th.
Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says paperwork will be given to the Marion County State’s Attorney seeking charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school against 36-year-old Jeremy Clark of Airport Road in Centralia and 36-year-old Leanna Williams of Hoffman. Williams was taken into custody on an outstanding Clinton County warrant and transported to the Clinton County Jail at Carlyle.
Police report finding 30 capsules of suspected Fentanyl and a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine during the search.
Dodson says the home has been the source of continuous drug trafficking complaints by area residents. For the past several months, he says numerous arrests have been made of subjects going and coming from the residence on foot and in vehicles. There have also been numerous overdose calls.
Another person in the home, 30-year-old Allan Crain, who told police he was homeless was taken into custody on an outstanding Marion County warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond.
Three others who were persons of interest in other cases were released pending further investigation.
The Centralia Police Code Enforcement, as well as the fire department, were called to the scene and multiple code and fire violations were identified and written up. Fourteen unrelated persons were reportedly living in the single-family home as well as a storage shed and a detached garage on the property.
The Centralia Police Department utilized its drug house ordinance to prohibit occupancy until the residence is deemed safe to occupy.
