Deloris Marie Meador, 96, of Salem, went to be with her Savior on December 23, 2024. She was born January 25th, 1928, to Leonard and Marie (Bradley) Fitzgerald in Columbus, OH. She would marry the love of her life, Joel Francis Meador, on December 27th, 1947, in Salem and they would be blessed with 34 years of marriage and 7 children, till his passing in 1982.

She enjoyed playing golf in her younger years. She cherished the people and friendships that she made at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church and through the 18 years working at Wal-Mart. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her family, especially around every holiday. She loved having family meals and prepared everything with such grace and love. She loved her home and her family.
Deloris is survived by three sons: David Meador, of Nashville, TN, Jon Meador, of Salem, and Joe Meador, of St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters: Julia (Ron) Hitchcock of Bettendorf, IA, Gloria (Terry) Bass, of Salem, and Susan Brandt, of Salem; ten grandchildren: Emily Duke, Julia (Wil) Moss, Brett (Nicki) Brubaker, Bryan (Amy) Brubaker, Sam Bass, Jesse Bass, Zach (Kailee) Bass, Taylor Stowers, Austin (Cora) Brandt, and Macie Brandt; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; three sisters: Jeri Swope, Marjorie Bartrom, and Joyce Roughgarden; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Marie Bradley Fitzgerald and Leonard (Pauline) Fitzgerald; her beloved husband: Joel Francis Meador; her precious daughter: Mary Kay Meador; and her lovely daughter-in-law: Connie Meador.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 26th, 2024, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 812 West Main St., Salem, with Fr. Godfrey Mullen officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 pm with burial following at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem.
