Leroy E. Becktell, age 68 of Alma, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Salem Township Hospital.
Leroy was born on June 2, 195,6 in Salem, the son of Lawrence E. and Betty Jo (Henderson) Becktell. He married Tammy Donoho on February 27, 1982, at the Salem First Baptist Church and they shared 42 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Becktell of Alma; sons, Lyle Becktell and Brayton Becktell; grandchildren, Jude, Rylee, and Kaiden; sisters, Jena Clifton of Monticello, Myra Donoho and husband Ronnie of Salem, and Julia Smith and husband Kerry of Salem; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Bill Clifton; and niece, Meghan (Hawkins) Patterson.
Leroy worked as a janitor for many years with the Salem Grade School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coaching basketball and football. Most of all he enjoyed being a husband, father, “poff” to his three grandchildren, brother, and friend.
