The Salem Wildcat Bowlers finished 2nd at the Salem Bowl Tournament on Saturday to Mt Vernon. Salem led heading into the final game, but an amazing 1200 game by the Rams pushed them to the title. Herrin was 3rd with Centralia 4th followed by Marion, Belleville West, Herrin JV, and Mater Dei. Ryan Detering was 2nd high series for the varsity at 1292. Nicholi Mahranka had the 2nd high series 1196 and 2nd high game for JV 247. Mt Vernon’s Brody Elliott won the individual title with teammate Travin Elliott 3rd. Ryan Detering was 2nd with teammate Keaton Gullion 5th overall, Rhett Detering was 6th, and Silas Moats 9th.
Salem grad and Missouri Baptist bowler Charlie Hunter bowled at the NAIA Invitational Tournament this weekend in Louisville, Kentucky. Hunter averaged over 228 during individual scoring, just enough to capture his first collegiate All-Tournament Team.
