Joann and her love for her family were reflected as the heart of her home. She instinctively met the needs of those around her and made sure that everyone would feel welcome and comfortable in her home. Joann never missed an opportunity to welcome loved ones and friends to her table, hosting Sunday dinners complete with her delicious homemade roast. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing Halloween costumes, making Santa suits, and dresses, and doing alterations. She also enjoyed quilting, creating beautiful quilts. Joann never let grass grow under her feet, keeping busy helping on her and her husband’s farm, growing bountiful gardens, and canning all the fresh flavors of the vegetables she grew. She valued community and personal connections. She loved to be chauffeur for her family and the neighborhood kids, taking them roller skating and having sled parties as soon as she saw that first snowflake. Joann was a proud Grandma who was extremely active in her grandchildren’s lives. Joann had a servant’s heart, was generous, kind, compassionate, and a loving Mom, Grandma, Sister, and Friend.
