Richard Ferris, Sr., 60, of Iuka, passed away Monday, November 4, 2024, at his home.
He was born October 19, 1964, in Granite City, Illinois, the son of Silver Pigg and Lila Mae (Clutts) Ferris. He married Diane L. Berkshire in 1984 and they later divorced.
Richard is survived by his son: Richard Ferris, Jr. of Highland, Illinois; two grandchildren: Phoenix Ferris and Taylor Jo Ferris both of Highland, Illinois; his fiancé: Rebecca Endicottt of Iuka; two sisters and three brothers: Laura Ferris of Highland, Illinois, Angela Pigg of Marion, Kentucky, Steve Ferris of Dorsey, Illinois, Robert Pigg of Marion, Kentucky, and Jamie Pigg of Marion, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather: Richard Ferris.
Richard worked as a carpenter for many years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. Richard had a passion for mushroom hunting and deer hunting.
Per Richard’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Highland American Legion Post 439, 1130 New Trenton Rd, Highland, IL 62249.
