Police Beat for Wednesday, October 30th, 2024

A 42-year-old Odin man was arrested for alleged domestic battery after allegedly striking a woman at the West Main and Hotze Road intersection.  Salem Police say Gary Farmer of Pine Street had been in a disagreement with the woman starting at the Walmart store.  Once they were leaving the store, the woman got out of the vehicle at Main and Hotze.  Farmer then also reportedly exited the vehicle, grabbed the woman by the face and struck her in the back of the head.  After being taken into custody, Farmer complained of chest pains and was treated at Salem Township Hospital before being transferred to the Marion County Jail.

Centralia Police arrested 36-year-old Bonifacio Salinas-Peralt of South Hickory in Centralia for aggravated domestic battery.  He was taken to the Marion County Jail pending a final decision on charges.

36-year-old Timothy Janes of Posey Street in Carlyle was arrested on no bond Marion County major traffic warrant as well as St. Clair County no bond traffic warrants.
