The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce welcomed the new owners of the High Point Residence at a Monday afternoon ribbon cutting.
The Manor at Salem Woods assisted living and memory care facilities on have recently been sold to Advantage Senior Care and rebranded as High Point Residence.
A principal in Advantage Senior Care Joseph Chase says he became involved in the ownership after developing a love for helping seniors while working in the field.
“We feel we can be a resource out there and get involved with more communities and more senior living communities. We decided to branch out, and the Southern Illinois and Central Illinois area is just a wonderful, wonderful place that we chose to spread our wings in, get to know our communities and get to be a huge resource.”
Chase says memory care facilities are fairly new in Illinois after a pilot program went extremely well.
“We’re able to put them in the least restrictive environment, so these folks don’t have to live in a long-term care facility. They can live in an assisted living facility, which offers them more independent and more customized care.”
Chase says in all Advantage Senior Care has 16 facilities mostly across Central and Southern Illinois as well as a few in Wisconsin.
He told those at the ribbon cuttings held at both Salem facilities that they want to become involved in the community.
Salem Mayor Nick Farley also welcomed the new ownership to the community.
