Salem City Council chambers.

There will be a new councilman in Salem after the April non-partisan election.

Two term incumbent Jim Koehler decided not to run for re-election.  He had picked up a packet but did not return it before the Monday afternoon deadline.  After being appointed to the council, Koehler has served two full terms.

The other incumbent, Royce Bringwald, will run for another term.  He’ll be on the ballot with Frank Addison and Gerald Molenhour for the two open seats.

The election will be held April 1st.
