Salem City Hall being closed three days next week for maintenance

Salem City Hall will be closed next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

City Manager Annette Sola says Cenpro will be utilizing a chemical to remove bird feces and other build up on the third floor of the city hall building that is not currently in use.   She reports the company had indicated there was a smell to the chemical that could spread through the building via the ventilation system, and she did not want to risk anyone becoming ill.

Temporary office space for city hall is being set up at the Bryan Bennett Library in the Board Room.  Utility payments will be accepted during normal business hours 7:30 to 4:30 during this time.  You’ll also be able to make arrangements to have utility service turned on or off.  Some services may be limited but they will make every effort to maintain normal operations.

City Hall will reopen with normal operations on Monday, November 4th.

Sola says the work by Cenpro is the first phase of improvements to the city hall building.  There will also be work to keep moisture out of the building that is seeping all the way down to the first floor.
