Christ Our Rock & Woodlawn Compete At Belleville East XC Finale

In their last regular season meet The Christ Our Rock Silver Stallions ran well bringing home a total of 4 medals with 2 race champions at The Belleville East XC Finale.

In the first race of the afternoon, the “Navy” division race, sophomore Carson Pigg medaled placing 5th in 17:34. In his final regular season high school cross country race, senior Zerek Koch placed 12th (18:22) out of the 100 member field. Soph Wyatt Gregory placed 21st (19:00) and senior Isaiah Lyons was also 53rd (20:12) for The Stallions in his last career regular season race as well.

Lady Stallion Rylee Brammeier also medaled in the “Navy” division race finishing 5th place in 20:56 out of the girls.

Next up was the “White” Division race and it was CORLHS freshman Cameron Jones winning the race in 20:02, :52 ahead the next finisher. Junior Liagel Lyons would also compete in the “White” division race finishing 26st (22:44) out of the 84 member field.

The last race of the day was the “Columbia” Division race and COR Freshman Jeremy Jansen would win that race as well in 28:34 for the Stallions.

It’s on to the post-season for The Stallions, who will compete again Saturday morning at the IHSA regional race held at Trenton-Wesclin High school as they attempt to qualify for the IHSA Sectional.


Woodlawn High School Sophomore Zelena Koch ran in her last regular season cross country meet this afternoon at The Belleville East Finale. She competed in the “White” Division race and placed 4th overall out of the girls in the race and medaled. She will compete again on Saturday at The IHSA Regional XC meet held at Trenton-Wesclin High School as she attempts to qualify for her 2nd strait IHSA Sectional Meet appearance.
