The Centralia Orphans are playoff eligible after a 42-16 win at rival Mount Vernon.  After Mt Vernon kicked a 37 yard field goal to open the scoring, the Orphans got a 90 yard touchdown return by Xavier Koch.  The Rams would answer back with a score of their own and led 10-8 after the first quarter.

Mike Brown would score the only touchdown of the 2nd quarter as the Orphans led 15-10 at halftime, but Centralia would dominate the 2nd half rushing for 275 yards in the final two quarters and holding the Rams to just 42 total yards in the 2nd half.  The Orphans finished with 389 total yards, 340 of them on the ground.

Mike Brown had 19 carries for 182 yards and 3 scores.  Will Stanton added 13 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown.

The 5-3 Orphans finish the South 7 3-1 and in 2nd place behind Cahokia.  They will travel to Effingham next week for their regular season finale.  Mt Vernon is 3-5 and will finish their season at Alton.
