Polly valued education and loved watching young minds learn while working as a teacher at Salem’s Hawthorn Elementary School. She loved to be in the kitchen, cooking and baking wonderful homemade treats for family and friends. Polly’s porch was the gathering place for family, especially for her and her sisters, and the best place to share a story and a good laugh. She was extremely creative and enjoyed quilting and cross stitch. Polly loved to watch her kids and grandkids play sports, cheering them on as their biggest fan. She liked to do a little retail therapy by shopping at her favorite places. Christmas was her favorite holiday to go all out, decking the halls and looking for the perfect gifts. Salem’s Little Egypt Parade was a family tradition that was celebrated like a holiday where so many fun memories were made. Polly was a true friend to all, loyal and kind, and she will be dearly missed by all.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval is privileged to be assisting the family of Polly Murray with arrangements.
