Larry Gene Brown, age 66 of Salem, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Twin Willows Nursing Center in Salem.
Gene was born on August 16, 1958, in Centralia, the son of Norman Leroy “Dick” and Bertha Ethalene (Ritter) Brown. He married Lisa Kaye Jones on June 1, 1979, in Salem and she survives in Salem.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, Lisa Brown, he is survived by two children, Heather Brown of Salem and Tim Brown and wife Michelle of Huey; grandsons, Bennett, Barrett and Boone; brothers, Roy Brown and Jerry Lee Brown; and one sister, Joyce Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alice Potter and Dixie Lee Brown; and brother, Gerry Dean Brown.
Gene worked for BASF for 26 years and then went to work for R.P. Lumber for 13 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and more than anything, spending time with his family and his grandsons.
Funeral Services for Larry Gene Brown will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Pastor Calvin Jean officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home and again from 1:00 pm until the time of the service on Friday.
