Katherine Louise Coulter, 64, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:16 pm on October 9, 2024, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born July 7, 1960, in West Virginia to the late Raymond Edward “Ray” and Rose Cliff.
Katherine is survived by her son, Jess Baize and fiancée, Amanda; grandchildren, Isaiah, Gaven, Mason, Alex, Alyssa, and Xavier; brothers, Ed Cliff and Michael Cliff; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Rose Hamberg; grandson, Brynden Tyler Gibson; and sister, Pat Underwood.
Katherine was an avid wrestling and Chicago Fire fan. She was tough as nails. Katherine went through a lot of trails in her life and persevered throughout it all. Most of all, Katherine loved her family, especially her grandchildren. They were the highlight of her life. She will be deeply missed.
A Visitation will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm, and Pastor Brian Fuller will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in Katherine’s honor to the American Heart Association or the Women’s Crisis Center.
