It was an exciting night for volleyball at B.E. Gum as Salem battled state-ranked Columbia all  the way to a 3-set loss, falling in the final set 29-27 to the Lady Eagles.  Salem held a 20-15 advantage in the match before Columbia went on an 8-point run to take a 23-20 lead.  Salem would save off 5 match points and have one of their own, but the Eagles finished them off.  Salem fell 18-25 in the first set but beat Columbia in the second 25-23.  Salem is 14-10 on the season.  The freshmen won in 3 sets and the JV lost in straight sets.

The SC Lady Cougars improved to 14-11 with a straight sets win over Neoga 25-21, 25-23.  Lauren Johnson had 5 kills, Mya Schaal added 4 .  River Yingst added 10 assists.  SC won the JV match in 3 sets and the Fresh/Soph match  in straight sets.  SC will travel to Woodlawn on Tuesday.

The Annies volleyball team begins play at the Highland Tournament today and tomorrow.
