Oscar Curtis Archie, 57, of Centralia, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024, at St. Louis University Hospital.

Oscar was born June 26, 1967, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Melvin Archie Sr. and Cleotha (Clark) Archie.

Oscar is survived by his significant other: Jennifer Akes of Centralia; children: Austin Crenshaw-Simpson and wife Haley of Odin, Darius Louvier-Archie of Centralia, and Delexia Lytle-Archie of Centralia; bonus children: Ian Kopf of Centralia and Deon Goss of Centralia; several grandchildren; siblings: Melvin Archie, Jr. and wife Brenda of Hazelwood, MO, Janis Burns of Centralia, Frederick Archie of Centralia, and Timothy Archie and wife Linda of Marion; Aunts: Cora Hunter of St. Louis, MO, and Gloria Wigley and husband Earl of Jackson, MS; special niece and nephew: Angelique Wea of Collinsville and James Hunter of St. Louis, Mo and great niece Shawntia (Teeter) Watson along with several nieces and nephews; also a special cousin: Sarah Turner of Jackson, MS.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin and Cleotha Archie; niece: Teneva Archie; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Oscar was a member of the Grateful Bible Fellowship Church. Oscar attended Kaskaskia College to obtain his degree as an automobile mechanic. He worked for Meeks Trash Service for 10 years as the company’s mechanic for their trucks. He was well known for being a master “shade tree” mechanic and known for the excellent work he done. He was a welder for a period of time at the Big 3 Precision Company. He enjoyed fishing, going on walks, and loved to cook, with his friends and family calling him the “Grill Master”.

Funeral Services for Oscar Curtis Archie will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Funeral Home before the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kaskaskia College Automotive program.
