The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports a person who broke out a window in a door of a Patoka home apparently was scared off when discovering someone was home. The sheriff’s department searched the area around the home in the 500 block of West Jefferson after receiving the call at 1:06 Wednesday morning but could not locate anyone.
The sheriff’s department is also investigating the theft of a log splitter from a residence in the 600 block of Burge Road in rural Centralia.
The sheriff’s department also received a report of a tombstone being vandalized at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery in rural Centralia.
