A Tuesday morning storm appeared to have dumped the most rain on Washington County, with WJBD Facebook followers reporting nine inches of rain in the Ashley and Richview areas. Seven to eight inches of rain is being reported in the Irvington area and six inches of rain east of DuBois.
The Salem Water Treatment Plant officially recorded 4.25 inches of rain and the Centralia Water Treatment Plant 4.3 inches.
Six plus inches of rain was recorded west of Alma, just north of Salem and just north of Kell. Five plus inches of rain was recorded north of Waltonville, near Forbes State Park, east of Kell and on the westside of Centralia. More than four inches of rain was recorded in the Xenia area and in the Mt. Vernon area.
Northern Marion and Southern Fayette County was spared the heaviest rain. 2.6 inches of rain was recorded in Patoka and 2.3 inches in St. Peter.
