Luzetta Lam, RN, a Nurse Manager for Critical Care and Progressive Care Units at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital – Mt. Vernon, was recently honored with the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award for extraordinary nursing over the past 27 years.
Lam started her nursing career as a floor nurse and quickly moved up to the role of a charge nurse on a step-down unit. She continued to advance and became a Unit Manager of Critical Care and was recently added to the Progressive Care Unit. Lam is described as an active manager who assists the unit with patient and staff care.
The DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes nurses who have devoted their lives and careers to the compassionate care of others. Nurses are nominated by their colleagues for their life-long dedication to compassion in nursing through active mentoring, role modeling, advocating for their patients, and promoting the positive image of nursing.
