A 26-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced to four years in prison for criminal trespass to a residence and aggravated battery to another inmate while being held in the Marion County Jail.  Joshua Scott of D Ann Drive was out on pre-trial release with GPS monitoring waiting for the sentencing hearing when he ran a car into a fence at the Ameren facility on South Lincoln in Centralia and left the scene on foot.   He was found with a bloody face, but it wasn’t until later the wrecked car was found.

Scott admitted to criminal trespass to a residence in July of last year on Holly Avenue in Centralia that he entered without permission.   As part of the plea, felony domestic battery and violation of pretrial release for returning to the Holly Street address were dropped.  He received a concurrent four-year prison term for aggravated battery to another inmate at the Marion County Jail in September of last year.

In addition to the four-year prison term, Scott will have to serve six months of mandatory supervised release when getting out of prison.  Scott was given credit for 94 days already served in the Marion County Jail.

Scott also pleaded guilty to failing to stop or report a motor vehicle accident resulting in property damage in connection with the June 25th crash on South Lincoln.  In exchange charges of failure to report an injury accident and reckless driving were dropped.  He was fined assessments only on that charge.
