A 22-year-old Salem man was arrested Sunday night by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a burglary charge after they and Salem Police responded to a disturbance at the Circle K store on West Main Street in Salem.
Michael Mercer of North Broadway was the clerk at the store who was taken to the Marion County Jail after the outstanding warrant was discovered.
Those who reportedly were harassing the clerk that resulted in the original call were ordered to leave the store and were not charged.
Mercer remained in jail Monday in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
