Norma Wehrle, 86, of Salem passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Norma was proud to be able to devote her love and attention, as a full-time homemaker, to her family. She was a lifetime member of the Centralia Chapter 223 Women of the Moose. Norma led a life of true adventure and thoroughly enjoyed traveling all over the world. During her travels, she fell in love with and called London, England her home for a time. Her eyes would light up when she would travel to Las Vegas as she could imagine her favorite singer, Elvis Presley, singing to sold-out performances there. Norma appreciated the beauty of nature and spent many enjoyable hours bird watching, searching for brightly colored visitors to her feeders. She had impressive, artistic gifts that could be seen with her talent for crocheting and paper mache’. Norma’s dog, Luke was her special companion and always welcomed her with enthusiasm and love. Spending quality time with her family was what brought Norma the most peace and joy. These memories that Norma helped her family create will be shared with future generations and treasured for all time.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin is privileged to be assisting the family of Norma Wehrle with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin with Rev. Fr. Steven Pautler officiating. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Sandoval. A visitation time to offer condolences to the family will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the funeral home in Odin where those in attendance will be asked to wear a mask and the number of people in the funeral home at one time will be limited. The family would like friends and family that are not able to attend the service to please know the funeral home will record the service for viewing on the funeral home’s YouTube channel. Survivors that will remember Norma’s zest for life include her devoted family, son, Russell Lusch of Salem, and daughter, Maria (Todd) Cartwright of Katy, TX; grandchildren, Annika, Abigail, and TJ; siblings, Rebecca (Ronald) Roberts of Odin, and Fred Lusch Sr. of Florida; her fur baby, puppy dog, Luke; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

She was born on March 21, 1934 the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Meredith) Lusch in Marion County, IL. She married the love of her life and her best friend, Russell Ray Wehrle, on her 19th birthday at Odin Baptist Church and he preceded her in death. Along with her beloved husband of 58 years, Russell Wehrle, Norma was preceded in death by both her parents, Harry and Dorothy Lusch; sister, Beverly Schaubert; and brother, Darrell Lusch.
