In Saturday pool play, Salem Cats 10u softball went 1-1 and ended 5th seed in gold bracket. The Cats lost to Illiana Dream Seams and won over the T-town Twisters. In the loss to IDS, Kaylee Carroll had 7 strike outs and 4 walks. Kaylee led the team offensively with 2 RBI, Julianna Rushing and Brinn Detmer had 1 RBI each. In the win against T-town Skylar Gaston had 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. Offensive, Gwen Goostree, Emma Hawley, Josey Gibson and Shaylee vest each had an RBI.
Sunday bracket play started at 8am for the Cats having to play against Illiana Dream Seams again. This time, the Cats came out on top with an 8-4 win. The Cats won the semifinal game as well to end up in the championship game. In the championship game, the Cats lost to Mattoon Pride 5-6 and finished second in the tournament. In the loss, Emma led the team offensively with 2 RBI. Kaylee and Brinn each had 1 RBI.
