The Salem Lady Wildcats opened their varsity softball summer league with a pair of wins yesterday. They beat Harrisburg 5-3. Bre Thurman struck out 10 in the win; Bria Murray had 2 hits with Marah Johnson, Thurman and Lilly Blagoue adding hits. Lilly’s was a homer.
In the 2nd game, Salem beat Galatia 8-5. Bria Murray was the winning pitcher striking out 7. Izzy Decker had 2 hits including her very first varsity home run. Murray also had 2 hits; Nat Lee drove in 2 with a single. Mya Russell, Thurman and Alli Thurman each singled.
