The Marion County Health Department has announced four more COVID-19 positive related deaths. Administrator Melissa Mallow says two are long-term care residents and the other two had been living at home prior to their illness.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported three COVID positive deaths in Jefferson County, two females in their 80s and a female in her 70s. Two deaths were reported in Fayette County, a female in her 70s and another in her 80s. In Clinton County, a woman in her 90s died. In Clay County, a female in her 70s passed away. In Effingham County, a male in his 60s died.
The Health Department is also announcing 41 new COVID-19 positive cases. Three are long term care residents. Five were students, but only one is having contact tracing because the other four were not at school during their infectious periods. 19 of the new cases are listed as community spread and 22 are believed to have been transmitted from household or close contacts. All 41 are on isolation.
There are now 296 active cases, including 14 who are hospitalized. Two of those patients are on ventilators. The health department released 83 from isolation on Wednesday. That brings the total number recovered to 1,762.
The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 73 new positive cases. There are now 704 on home isolation and 17 who are hospitalized.
The Washington County Health Department is reporting 42 new lab-confirmed cases on Tuesday and Wednesday. There are now 124 active cases and six who are hospitalized.
The Fayette County Health Department is reporting 47 new cases.
Clay County s reporting 27 new cases on Tuesday.
The Wayne County Health Department is reporting 16 new cases. there are 116 in isolation and five who are hospitalized.
