After a tough loss to finish their high school season on Wednesday, the Salem Wildcats varsity team for next year opened up their summer season at Woodlawn yesterday.  The Cats took out their frustrations on the Cardinals as they opened with a 19-0 win.  Rhett Detering tossed the no-hitter striking out 7.  At the plate, Carter Lowe and Colton Shelton homered and drove in 3 each, Rhett Detering had 3 doubles going 4-5 with 3 RBI, Ryan Detering also doubled going 2-3, Braden Rector went 2-2 with 2 RBI and Keaton Gullion singled and scored twice and made a great catch down the line in left field.

The Cats pitching dominance wasn’t done as in Game 2, Colton Shelton took the mound and also threw a no-hitter in a 9-0 win.  Shelly struck out 8.  At the plate, Aden Bass was 3-3 with 5 RBI, Brody Collier doubled and scored, Braden Rector and Colton Rogers had 2 hits each, Eli Lograsso had 2 hits and scored 3 runs.
