The Centralia City Council Monday night are expected to pass a proclamation for Small Business Saturday-Shop Local and establishing today as James ‘Jim’ Adams day for his work in the community. Adams recently passed away at the age of 107. He had been active in preserving the city’s railroad heritage and at the First United Methodist Church in Centralia.
The council will consider submission of the five year Transportation Improvement Program to the Illinois Department of Transportation for the Centralia Municipal Airport. The council will also consider a resolution approving a contract agreement with Neumayer Equipment Company, Inc to bring the fuel system at the airport back into standards at a cost of $28,928.
The council will consider an agreement with Foster and Foster, Inc. to complete actuarial Services. Another resolution would authorize the use of Raccoon Lake for the National Boat Racing Association races next August.
Prior to the regular meeting at six, the city council will hold a public hearing at five on an application on the city’s proposed Downstate Small Business Development Program grant application of $25,000 to support the Golden Pancake House. At 5:30, another work session on the general operating budget for 2021 will be held.
