The SC Cougars prepared for their 1a regional opener later this week with a 10-9 home win over Zeigler Royalton. The Cougars trailed the Tornadoes 9-8 in the bottom of the seventh when they would scratch 2 runs across for the win including Brody Markley working a bases loaded, walk-off walk.
Also in regular season play, Breese Central beat Gibault 10-0, Marion 12-0 over Herrin, Flora lost to Nashville 4-3, North Clay over Casey-Westfield 3-1 and TTown beat Mount Vernon 10-1.
