The Marion County Health Department is reporting its 41st COVID-19 related death. It was a female in her 70s who was a long term care resident. Wayne County recorded its 30th death, a male in his 70s. In Effingham County, a male in his 70s and a female in her 80s passed away.
The Marion County Health Department is reporting 52 new cases on Thursday. Three are long term care residents and five are students. One is homeschooled, three were not at school during their infectious periods and the health department is completing contact tracing on the fifth student. 29 of the new cases are being listed as community spread and 23 from household or close contacts. The 52 positive cases range from three girls under 13, three in their teens up to a male in his 80s.
There are now 347 active cases, including 16 who are hospitalized. Of those, three are on ventilators. The health department released 66 from isolation on Thursday, bringing the number recovered to 1,259.
The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 112 new cases. That brings the total number on home isolation to 529. There are 11 who are hospitalized.
Jefferson County is reporting 47 new positive cases, including five under 13, six teens to two females in their 90s. There are currently 256 active cases in isolation.
Fayette County has 77 new positive cases including 51 related to a congregate care outbreak.
The Clay County Health Department is reporting 20 new cases on Wednesday.
The Wayne County Health Department is reporting 23 new cases including three children and two teens up to two males in their 80s. 127 are currently in isolation. There is no one hospitalized.
