Woodlawn freshman Zelena Koch’s freshman track and field season ended today on a high note at the Class 1A IHSA Sectional meet at Fairfield High School! She medaled in both the 3200 meter run, placing 4th and just missing her PR by 1 second and also medaled in the 1600 meter run placing 6th! She had an up and down season but really stepped it up today to bring home 2 medals and score points for the Cardinals!
The future looks bright for her and I’m very proud of the fight I saw in her this Freshman Track and Field season and cross country season in the fall!
To be a double medalist at her 1st IHSA High School Sectional Meet is a lot to be proud of! I know with hard work and dedication she can crack the Top 2 and make her way to the IHSA State meet in the next couple years
