The Marion County Health Department is reporting two new deaths related to COVID-19 as well as 50 new cases.
Health Department Administrator Melissa Mallow says the two fatalities were males in their 90s. Neither were long term care residents. There have now been 35 deaths from those testing positive to COVID-19.
Of the 50 new cases, 20 were long term care residents from various facilities in Marion County. Four others were students. Contact tracing is underway for two of them. The other two were not in school during their infectious periods. The health department reports 36 of the cases are listed as community spread and the 14 others as spread from household or close contacts. Ages of the positive cases range from four teens to four females in their 90s. All are on isolation.
The health department is now monitoring 304 active cases, including 20 who are in the hospital. Two are on ventilators. There were none released from isolation on Friday, with a total of 1.092 who have recovered.
The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 58 new positive cases. A total of 493 are now on home isolation and 15 in the hospital.
The Jefferson County Health Department had 38 new positive cases ranging in age from under 13, two teens to a man in his 90s. There are now 283 active cases.
The Washington County Health Department is reporting 29 new lab-confirmed cases ranging in age from a female under five to a male in his 80s. There are currently 77 active cases with one person hospitalized.
In Fayette County, there were 40 confirmed and five probable new COVID-19 cases. There are now 297 active cases.
