The Salem 11u Wildcats finished 2nd at the Chesterfield Tournament falling in the championship to the Sox 12-2. Jacob Butts doubled home a run for Salem and Issac Knaap had the other RBI. They also combined on the mound to allow just 3 earned runs in the game.
Salem got to the title game with a 9-2 win over the Riverdogs. Nolan Krutsinger doubled twice going 3-3 with 3 runs scored. Maddox Lograsso and Maxsen Tieman also added doubles. Jacob Butts and Tieman drove in 2 runs along with Brody Brubaker. Krutsinger picked up the 5-inning win allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run.
Salem opened the tournament on Saturday with a pair of wins. They beat the Impact 15-6 with Knaap doubling twice and extra base hits also from Krutsinger and Weston Crouse. Crouse drove in 2 runs along with Knapp and Butts.
Salem beat KC United 4-1. Butts drove in 2 runs with RBI also from Krutsinger. Izac Holsapple was the winning pitcher going 4 innings allowing 1 hit and no earned runs. Knapp worked the final inning for the save.
