Salem Lady Cats 10u Go 4-0 Over The Weekend
The Salem 10u Lady Cats Team Rushing went 4-0 in games this weekend. On Saturday, they swept the Teutopolis Twisters. Salem won 24-10 with Gwen Goostree and Kaylee Carroll scoring 4 runs each with 3 from Emma Hawley and Harlow Tellefsen. They also beat TTown 12-3. Goostree and Julianna Rushing scored 3 runs each and Shaylee Vest added 2.
On Sunday they beat the Mt Zion Red 8-3 and 16-7. In the 8-3 win, Brinn Detmer scored 2 runs along with Goostree. Josey Gibson also scored a run. In the 16-7 victory for Salem, Carroll, Hawley and Detmer scored 3 times.
Salem 14u Sweeps Greenville Bison
The Salem 14u Wildcats won a pair of games over the weekend on Sunday sweeping the Greenville Bison. The won 3-0 as Keytin King and Logan Butts drove in runs. King and Landen White combined on the mound in the 6 inning no-hitter combining to strike out 12 and only walk 3.
They also won 14-3. Silas Lux drove in 3 runs along with Drake Rector. Salem got 2 RBI from King and Nicholi Marhanka. Jaxon Ward combined with Scout Puricelli and Butts in the 1-hit win.
Salem 13u Runner Up In Tournament Action To Sparta
The Salem 13u Wildcats finished 2nd at their tournament over the weekend falling to Sparta 5-0 in the championship. Zane Applegate and Trygg Aaron had the only 2 Salem hits. Applegate and Bentley Bryan were the pitchers for Salem.
Salem got to the title game with their semifinal win over Aviston 14-3. Rhett Starnes and Tripp Garden drove in 2 runs each with RBI also from Jax Schaubert, Aaron and Drew Consolino. Colton Tockstein got the complete game win on the mount striking out 12.
Salem went 2-0 in pool play. They beat the SI Gators 12-3 behind 3 RBI from Starnes and 2 each from Applegate and Tockstein. Schaubert was the complete game winning pitcher. The Cats opened the tournament with a 9-0 win over the Tribe. Kai Graham threw the five inning no-hitter. At the plate it was Applegate and Tockstein driving in 2 runs each.
Salem 11u Split DH With SI Diamondbacks
The Salem 11u Wildcats split their doubleheader with the Southern Illinois Diamondbacks on Saturday. In their opening 5-1 win, the Cats got RBI from Izac Holsapple, Jacob Butts and Nolan Krutsinger. Isaac Knapp and Krutsinger pitched in the win.
In the 9-8 loss, Salem scored 3 runs in the fifth but the Diamondbacks scored a walk-off run in the bottom of the inning. Butts drove in 4 Salem runs going 2-3.
Salem 10u Win Pair On Sunday
The Salem 10u Wildcats won both their games on Sunday. They beat the Fighting Irish 6-0. Ethan Petrillo and Easton drove in 2 runs each with Lewis Eddy adding an RBI along with Jasen. Nash Mulvaney was the winning pitcher allowing 2 hits and striking out 10.
Salem won the 2nd game 2-0. Easton drove in a run for the Cats. Easton struck out 10 in the win and Ethan Petrillo worked an inning.
