Salem Varsity & JV Play At Home After Different Results On Friday
The Salem Wildcats are 7-7 overall heading into today’s home double header against Teutopolis starting at 10am.
The Cats improved to 1-2 in the Cahokia Conference with their 6-4 road win at Freeburg last night. Josh Powless drove in 3 runs with RBI from Noah Nix, Rhett Detering and Aden Bass. Rhett got the win going 6.1 allowing 8 hits and 4 runs. Nix came in and got the final 2 outs for the save.
The Salem JV is 5-7 as they are set to host Mattoon today at the Little League Complex for a pair of games. The JV Cats lost to Freeburg in Salem yesterday 10-0 in five innings. Salem only had 2 hits, singles from Keytin Grawe and Aden Rostance. Carter Lowe took the loss going 4 innings, with Hudson Gambill working the 5th.
SC Cougars Host Casey/Breese Central Today
The SC Cougars are back in action today with home games against Casey Westfield and Breese Central. SC is coming off a 4-2 home win over Carlyle. Brody Markley drove in 2 runs for SC and Coen West was the winning pitcher going 6 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs with 7 strikeouts. Trevin Sidwell got the final 3 outs for the save.
