A 56-year-old Salem man has been arrested for driving under the influence after allegedly striking two vehicles in front of the Marion County Law Enforcement Center early Thursday night.

Salem Police say Michael Thompson of Cottonwood Village struck a personal vehicle of an employee on North Washington Street in front of the jail before entering the parking lot and hitting a pickup truck belonging to a second employee.   He remained at the scene where he was arrested.

Thompson was taken to the Marion County Jail where he remained overnight before being released Friday morning.

Court records indicate Thompson had just graduated from Marion County Drug Court in February where charges of criminal damage to property and residential burglary were dismissed.
