Wamac Mayor Butch Mathus is preparing for a large number of kids for the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Wamac Park on Sunday.
Mathus says he wants no kid to go away empty handed with gift bags prepared for up to 700 kids.
He reports kids and families can begin gathering at the Wamac Park at noon Sunday, with the hunt beginning at one.
“We will have 3 age groups. Half years old to 4, 5-8 and 9-12, there will be tickets for boys and girls in each division. After the hunt we will draw for the winners. Right now we have 15,000 eggs, 700 gift bags, over 70 bicycles and over 60 Easter baskets that will be given away. We will have gift bags for each boy and girls as well.”
Mathus says new this year is the Team Mobile Tent. They will be adding their own specialty eggs for each age group and those finding a prize Team Mobile egg will be able to take it to their tent to redeem for a prize.
Mathus is thanking everyone who has supported the Easter Egg Hunt to make it possible for the kids.
