The Centralia Business and Professional Women’s Club has announced their Boss and Woman of the Year.
The Boss of the Year is Emily Owen. Emily is the Director of Programs at One Hope United in Centralia. Event Chair Emily Kracht says they received an outstanding amount of support nominations for Mrs. Owen. Her co-workers and those whom she supervises shouted praise for not only her professionalism and ability to think quickly and outside the box but also her kind and caring nature. Kracht says each application also applauded her strong leadership skill along with her ability to remain positive and strong for her team.
The Centralia BPW has named Luberta Lytle as Woman of the Year. Luberta is a Certified Christian Life Coach as well as an author of several books. She retired from the State of Illinois. Luberta contributes her time and talents to many different organizations in town including, but not limited to The Community Youth Center, Second Baptist Church, and the Balloonfest. She also organizes the Annual Back to School Bash for area children. Luberta was also noted for her advocacy for empowering other women.
The two awards are presented yearly as part of BPW Week activities during the third weekend in October. Earlier this year, BPW sought nominations from those in the community for both awards.
To celebrate the two winners, the Centralia PBW will hold a private reception for the winners and their loved ones. The reception will be streamed live through a Facebook Event at 5:45 pm on Wednesday, October 21st.
