The City of Centralia has issued permits for five new duplexes and three new homes. Community Development Director Gayla Harting says Shores Properties of Centralia is completing the $850,000 development. It will complete the construction of a new subdivision near the Greenview Golf Course
unless additional streets are added. Each of the new duplexes is valued at $125,000 and each new home at $75,000.
The residential development and the $700,000 permit announced earlier for the new Dominos Pizza building at 320 South Elm make up the largest part of the $1,869-thousand dollars in building permits issued in September. The next largest permit is to locate a mobile home at 816 North Hickory. The rest of the 19 permits are for sheds, garages, or fences.
Five demolition permits were issued. Shores Properties is tearing down two homes at 1301 and 1307 East 2nd West of Hollywood Hair to make way for a new Doctor’s office building for Dr. Udaya Liyanage. Harting says building plans have not yet been submitted to the city. Permits were also issued to tear down a house at 708 South Pine, a garage at 411 Melrose, and a shed at 1750 Tee Lane.
