The Shopper’s Weekly will be published for the last time this Wednesday.
The Shopper’s Weekly was first created by John and Cathy Stuehmeier in September 1988 and grew to a circulation of more than 20,000.
Cathy Stuehmeier says after 59 years in the marketing business, she knows it is time to retire. While she is looking forward to more time with her grandkids and the opportunity to travel, she describes the decision as bittersweet. Stuehmeier says she will miss her clients and her work family, some of whom were with the publication for decades. She called them ‘incredible’ and will miss seeing them every day.
Stuehmeier hopes and prays they have fulfilled their promise from the beginning to provide a Christian paper with great savings from advertisers and interesting articles and columns.
If she was younger, Stuehmeier said she would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
And don’t expect to see the Stuehmeier’s to disappear. They still plan to be involved in the community with every intent to help where they can.
